Campus artwork more than aesthetics

Nestled on the west side of the Cal State Fullerton campus is an artistic landscape filled with a profusion of abstract and figurative art pieces. Artwork created of aluminum, bronze, steel, cedar and a variety of other elements adorn the courtyard of the Visual Arts Center.

Student ‘ambassadors’ lead the way

A swarm of guests, young and old, can sometimes be spotted meandering through the Cal State Fullerton campus.

Their only familiar feature is the navy-blue polo-wearing leader they follow.

Smiling and attentive to their group’s questions and needs, these cordial hosts are known as the university’s Titan Ambassadors.

Fullerton Railroad Days was a celebration of the machine

Transformed through the decades in its speed, design and destinations, this cross-country traveler has blazed a trail not yet forgotten. Its metal highways extend across the nation and its historical importance remains respected.

In celebration of Fullerton’s heritage with this massive voyager, the Fullerton Public Library hosted a two-day event in preparation for the city’s 10th annual “Railroad Days.

‘Shake ‘n’ Bake’ dishes it out

While the trio formally known as “the Morticianers” was laid to rest with the departure of pinch hitter Chris Jones, Cal State Fullerton’s remaining “pinch hitting professionals” Matthew Fahey and Jon Wilhite have created a new dynamic duo.

Stepping up to the plate in what Wilhite describes as “the most important parts of the game during the seventh and eighth innings,” a team within a team is called upon to make pivotal plays that help the Titans win games.

The Center for Successful Aging celebrates its 10-year anniversary

Cal State Fullerton may have been missing its usual sea of weekday students strolling across campus on Saturday morning, but friendly chatter still filled the hall outside the Kinesiology and Health Science Building.

Adorned with lavender tables and towers of white and purple balloons, the shaded concrete walkway was transformed into a welcoming area for guests to celebrate the 10th anniversary of CSUF’s Center for Successful Aging.

Women showcase their artwork in Long Beach

The sight of crimson red lips against a woman’s pale complexion instantly demands attention.

Her piercing blue eyes and hauntingly cold gaze invoke a mysterious and powerful feeling.

Beneath her shadowy veil she is a woman of secrets and strengths, the representation of a new breed of woman.

CSUF volunteers get down and dirty for a cause

At the end of a shady road lined with olive trees and wooden fences sits a 12-acre nature preserve which Cal State Fullerton owns and operates.

Reminiscent of a rural countryside, the canyon roads found just outside the busy streets of eastern Orange County led CSUF’s Volunteer and Service Center to the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary.

Women to men: ‘We did do it!’

Women – They’re everywhere.

Not just the pretty little domesticated wives and mothers of yesteryears.

They are soldiers, police officers, business owners, students, athletes and even contenders to become the president of the United States.

America’s paradigm of the strictly patriarchal society that I learned about in my history books has definitely changed.
