Common Sense: Declare your support, damnit!
When Cal State Fullerton President Milton A. Gordon was asked to sign the Declaration to Defend Public Education, he stubbornly refused to sign, even when the students offered to remove statements he found problematic. Mr. President, with all due respect (and I'm not sure how much is due), why the hell would you not sign a petition in support of public education?
Letter to the Editor: Campout in Langsdorf
I commend students for their active engagement in critical issues facing our university and the CSU during these challenging fiscal times. I agree with and support many of the points of the Declaration to Defend Public Education and encourage all students to ensure that their voices are heard.
Letter to the Editor: Campout in Langsdorf
As students, faculty and staff, we are here in Langsdorf Hall united in defense of public education. We are waiting for President Gordon and Cal State Fullerton administration to either support our Declaration in Defense of Public Education or work with us to draft a new declaration that both sides can agree upon. We are willing to work with President Gordon, but he has continually denied his cooperation.
Editorial: Sleep in
Sixty hours and counting. That is how long over 100 students and faculty have been camped out in Langsdorf Hall awaiting President Milton Gordon to sign the Declaration to Defend Public Education.

Great feed, whoever is updating this. Thanks!
This isn’t going to do ANYTHING but waste time… It’s time to arrest these hippies.
Thanks for updating info. Great work.
Roger,
It could be that you enjoy getting a free education. For those of us who have to pay for our education, we need to fight back!
Roger first off they aren’t hippies they are activists and they have the audacity to stand for something when the rest of America chooses to remain in their apathetic cocoon. Establish, then Revolutionize. That is how change happens and that is exactly what these role model students are doing.
They don’t skip class, they care about their education, most of them had their lap tops open until 3 A.M alongside with erect textbooks studying for upcoming Mid Terms. These are the best and brightest students any school system regardless of it being a CSU UC or private school could hope for.
Bravo to the Daily Titan and surrounding Media to realize how amazing these students actions are. If freedom of Speech is a waste of time to you sir, I’d recommend you find a new country because people like you are a waste of America’s time and capability.
Thank you Nicolette! Hope to see you soon homegirl, you’s half woman half amazing, fo real.
Without the immediate restoration of Glass-Steagall as a national poicy, everything that you do for higher education is hopeless.
Unless the trillions of dollars of derivatives (some of them being student loan securities) are written off, and wall street virtually put out of existence you will, eventually, not even have a school to attend. The state crisis that california is facing is caused by federal issues, specifically around the fact that there is no serious jobs program for the country, and because of that there are no real revenues being created in any of the states, which right now are relying more on the private sector (which itself was the cause of major looting in California..e.g enron, silicon valley, the housing bubble) than the federal government, because Obama’s catfood comission (a fiscal commission headed by alan simpson and erskine bowles) last year told the governors of all the states that it would not extend anymore federal relief to them for the next ten years. This is not to mention the cuts to NASA, to the Army Core of Egineers, couched in the 4 trillion dollar compromise to the republicans by Obama.
The issue today is yes, making sure higher education is protected but like I said before we have to get Glass-Steagall through as policy once again. This policy was recently introduced by Marcy Kaptur..HR 1489 into the house. This is a must for any serious college student, who is serious about their education. Without it there will be no solution to any other problem.
Solidarity, is solidarity of a nation, around a common principle. That common principle then defines the outlook of the nation due to it’s affect on the future of the country. The future is not a money system where we think we should all get a piece of an imaginary pie but a scientifically driven system with an emphasis on those higher platforms of industrial might which create higher orders of man in the universe. There are many examples of those platforms in history and those platforms through Mankind’s creative discoveries and applications of those discoveries create the new boundaries of our potential-population density.
