Gleeks, or Glee fans, everywhere had their television sets all aglow last Tuesday night as Fox's hit series Glee kicked off its second season.

In typical Glee fashion, the episode combined its three signature elements well. The show's fantastic talent is the capstone of these, which included a real-life Filipino singing sensation Cherice who popped in and out of the episode, posing a threat to the spotlight of Rahel Berry (Lea Michele).

Laughs were served up which most notably occurred when Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) made poop cookies, which she offered to new head football coach Shannon Beiste (Dot Jones) as revenge for the football team's increase in funding.

Finally, the show's plot continues to grab fans' attention, which encompassed the announcement of funding cuts from both the Glee Club and the Cheerios (McKinley High's cheerleading team) to benefit the football team. The plot also included Finn's removal as the football team's star quarterback, Quinn's recovery of her Cheerios Captain title and cheerleader Santana Lopez's summer "surgery," which demoted her from captain resulting in a hallway cat fight with Quinn.

The success of Glee has surprised many, including the members of British alternative rock band Coldplay, who declined the use of their material on the show last season, but are now recanting their decision, according to Rolling Stone. This should come as no surprise given that the cast provides a never-ending stream of musical and dancing talents.

In addition to vocal adroitness, the show has messages that are relatable to viewers on many levels as it hits many issues that are relevant in today's society, including last season's teen pregnancy as exhibited by Quinn (who gave birth within five minutes and fifty-five seconds during Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody") and tolerance of homosexuality, as seen in the ever-evolving brotherly dynamic between step brothers Kurt and Finn in last season's Lady Gaga episode. Moreover, the show depicts students being the underdogs of the high school scene, which is inherent to the show's theme.

According to TV.com, there will be much more to look forward to this season, including a Rocky Horror-themed episode in October. Also, according to Glee co-creator in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, there will be new characters introduced to the show, a possible follow-up to season one's popular Madonna espisode and a grand season finale of New Direction at Nationals in New York. Hopefully, the group's stint in New York won't end up like the heartbreak suffered at Regionals.
