Eight high school students and two community college athletes plan to help the Cal State Fullerton baseball team add depth in every position on the diamond by signing national letters of intent for the 2011 season.

The group of signees includes two infielders, five pitchers and three utility players, which could play in the infield or outfield as well as pitch, according to the CSUF athletics Web site.

The Titans’ coaching staff was poised to build on the 2010 recruiting class, which was ranked No. 5 nationwide by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball, by committing the players to the program during the early signing period that ran from Nov. 11 – Nov. 18.

CSUF will have another opportunity to address any other needs for the 2011 season during the late signing period that takes place from April 14, 2010 – Aug. 1, 2010.
