No matter what prison time the judge sentences her for, she’ll be out in seven years (or less) for good behavior.

She would do even less time if she were in the Screen Actors Guild.

Meanwhile, we will continue to read the paper or watch the evening news about similar stories of accident related D.U.I.s around the country.

Sadly, it will never stop….

Figures her daddy is working to postpone as long as possible. As someone else said, she’s looking out for herself. She and the Shekell family only care about keeping Jessica from taking responsibility for killing and injuring people due to her lack of good judgment. She chose to drink and drive. This is not an accident when she chose to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. This is a wreck that took people’s lives and injured two children, who will suffer emotionally and physically for the rest of theirs. Jessica Shekell’s family should not be cleaning up after her. They are only teaching her that she has no consequences for her actions.
I feel they also want to postpone as long as possible so that interest in this case will quietly disappear and they can get Jessica Shekell off on any charges altogether. The OC Register and other major news outlets have all but ignored this case since the initial date of the wreck.

Don’t forget the money spent on everything from bail to lawyers to court costs that her family has to pay because she MAY not be guilty. Wow….killing two people isn’t enough. Have to keep the attention going by dragging this out in court. What a waste of life and tax money.

Her character is very poor….makes a very tragic mistake, kills two innocent people, seriously injures two more, and can’t even step up to the plate and plead guilty when charged….how about her taking responsibility for her actions? But no, she’s clearly thinking about saving her own ass now…and she’s going to make the family relive that night in court.

Et- I as well went to high school with Jessica. We were not close friends, but I do know her as a person. She IS a nice person who made a very bad mistake. She did not do this intentionally or out of hatred, it was in no way a preconceived event that she had been plotting for years just to ruin the lives of many people. She was under the influence which made her lose all ability to make a wise decision.
I am deeply sorry for the families of this victims and in NO way condone her actions, but a mistake does not make her a bad person to the core. I agree that it was her “stupid fault” and it can never be undone, but the jessica I know would never have wanted any of this to happen and had she been in a better frame of mind, it would not have. I do not think alcohol is a good excuse for anything, but this does not change the character of a person.

Im sure you have made some stupid mistakes yourself ET, this one unfortunately, affected innocent people. My prayers are with all.

ashley…this is your idea of a nice person? That someone can flash a cute smile and say “hi” does not make them a nice person.
Sadly, we all have a very clear picture of what kind of person Jessica is. She showed the world her true colors on October 26th.
When I first read about this story, I thought it was very sad for all involved. Jessica’s stupid fault; but still sad. As I have read the evil, selfish, cruel, and ignorant comments from Jessica’s defenders, I have come to develop a pretty deep hatred for all of you. I hope I get called for jury duty and maybe we can meet in person!
Just one more word for you to think about (if any of you actually think): karma.

I’m not going to sit on here and try and justify the story like everyone else because I don’t have enough real info. But I went to high school with jessica and we were not best friends in fact we were barely aquantices but I remember she was a nice person and always very successful. She made a mistake and yes she will have to pay just like everyone else but why bag on someone like all of you are doing when you have no clue who she is or what kind of person she is. Find something else to do seriously. My sympathy goes out completely to jessica and her family and everyone else who was hurtin the ACCIDENT!I hope everything is Ok

This is a response to triple XXX’s comment about Jessica:
First off, she didn’t break and enter their home with intent to kill. It was a freeway collision, and tragic as it is, should not be viewed as a slaughter. She’s not Charles Manson. Secondly, proper English will state that expletive used to enhance one’s comment usually comes before the verb, IE Freaking brain damage, not brain freaking damage. Which I find Freaking Funny. Because apparently, your the one with brain damage!

you guys are all stuck in high school stop talking crap and let the families both deal with what has happened. yes two people died terribly said two GIRLS not babies were ingured (seat belts) and the DUI driver will have to live with this for the rest of her life alreadyy so stop running your mouths
