HIV is a nasty disease. Once you get it, there is no cure for it. Safe sex and abstinence is the only way to avoid getting it.

HIV/AIDS is still a problem today despite huge medical advances, i am wondering if there would ever be a cure for this disease .

Interesting story, for those of us who don’t live in California, I’ve never heard of such a chain much less one that does free testing. I’ve been tested now every 6 months since May 2002 when I graduated high school, still come back negative, still practice safe & responsible sexual activities. The biggest worry is when you are uninformed till the last possible moment or after intercourse, or you are informed at that key moment and then find out besides being HIV Positive, they have this and that as well. Still clean and still thankful luckily, but in life now a days you just treat everyone as if they had something and be glad when you learn otherwise.

Congrats on a nice post, Dan – but more; congrats and thanks for remaining HIV-negative thus far. I sure wouldn’t want you walking in my shoes… But can an old geezer like me give you some good advice? Harness your happy news, and make it work for you and others. Re-dedicate yourself to maintaining your safe sex techniques and inspire it in others as well. Incredibly, some who test negative presume that they are somehow ‘more immune’ to the virus and then slack up on their vigilance. Please don’t make that mistake, eh?
