If you happened to walk by College Park today you may have noticed Austin Powers and his “toit” Mini Cooper sitting in the parking lot. Today was the grand opening ofTogo’s sandwich shop inside Nutwood Cafe and the festivities ran through more than just the building.

As the Austin Powers impersonator hosted raffles and games for students walking by, Togo’s offered free sandwiches, cake and other baked good samples to all.

Students in College Park no longer have to walk across campus to the Titan Student Union to have a sandwich now that Togo’s has opened it’s doors on the first floor.

“The reason we have two Togo’s on campus now is to give Togo’s experience on both sides,” said Crystal Wooldridge, the marketing coordinator of the store. “Especially for College Park students, they finally can enjoy the food as well as anyone else without the distance.”

Togo’s not only offers healthy food choices for students and staff on the run, but it also employs many CSUF students, making it a destination that is in-demand.

“Togo’s is popular and what makes us so special is that most of us are students so that we usually have a great connection, understanding, and respect with our customers,” said Emily Kung, a Togo’s employee and CSUF student said.

The grand opening celebration lasted from 12 to 4 p.m. A surfboard, bike and movie tickets were all given away during raffles and the end of the event, more than 50 sandwiches were given to hungry passers by.
