I’m glad to see that CSUF will still hold on to our beloved pachyderm. As an alumna, I was a little concerned that the professors would wrongly attempt to assign alternative meanings to the mascot: “It’s a boy! It’s an elephant! It’s blue!” To them, I say, “RELAX! A mascot is just a mascot.”

Tuffy is our mascot and no one elses. Other schools have their elephant mascots. Other entities have their elephant mascots, but Tuffy is ours — all ours. LONG LIVE TUFFY TITAN and all his pals, too!
